ICE is a federal law enforcement agency under Homeland Security. Their primary role and power are to find, arrest, and remove people who are in the U.S. illegally or have violated immigration laws, and to investigate criminal activity in the form of drug cartels and terrorism. However, ICE leaves many frozen in fear as families are separated and lives are destroyed.
They are authorized to detain individuals suspected of violating these immigration laws. There are, however, limitations to their power, assuming they adhere to your constitutional rights. These include the right to free speech, due process, and protection against unreasonable search and seizures.
ICE has been around since 2003, and nobody will argue that we all want to keep our country safe from crime and terrorism. But there is a right way and a wrong way to do things, and what is happening now, under Trump, is wrong.
ICE has taken on a darker, more sinister presence for many due to the sudden and unlawful arrests and deportations that are occurring at an alarming rate.
This is unlawful, immoral, and should not be tolerated! Where is our humanity? Our compassion? Our sense of justice? Wake up!
Destroying Innocence

Jocelynn Rojo Carranza: Jocelynn Carranza was an 11-year-old girl from Gainesville, Texas who committed suicide in February 2025. She had been the victim of bullying at her intermediate school over her family’s immigration status. Students had taunted her, threatening to call ICE on her family multiple times, according to the school’s investigation.
Tragically, after being hospitalized, Jocelynn died on February 8 – five days after her mother found her unresponsive at their home in Gainesville, Texas.
For this little girl, the fear of ICE was so tragically strong that she took her own life to avoid the possibility. This kind of all-consuming fear we usually reserve for the monsters in our nightmares, not in real life. My heart aches for this beautiful angel and her family. We should all hurt for these families. Humiliation Hits Hard
From there he was detained in an overcrowded, windowless room with 25 to 35 older men. He was expected to shower and use the restroom in front of this older crowd, and describes the conditions as humiliating. They were given a piece of foil to cover with but had to sleep on the concrete ground. For meals, they were given crackers to eat. He recalls trying to share his with the rest, because he felt they were not getting enough. And when he asked for a Bible, he was told no, but still credits his faith for helping him through this experience. This 18 year old showed more compassion than our president and the administration under him. Read full story on CNN.
